What to expect from me as your wedding photographer
I wanted to take some time to let you know what you can expect when you work with me as your wedding photographer. It is very important to me that you feel relaxed and happy from booking me all the way through to receiving your final products and beyond, so I came up with a process to ensure all my clients have a similar yet tailored experience.
I will respond within 48 hours of receiving your enquiry to let you know whether I am available for your date or not.
If I am available, I will send you my pricing details as well as a link to a full wedding galley to give you an idea of what your wedding could look like from the start to the end of your day.
If I am not available, I will share a list of recommended photographers whose work I admire and I know with you.
An informal chat
I usually suggest meeting somewhere if we are local to each other, but a chat via Skype works just as well and gives you and your partner an opportunity to ask me lots of questions. I want to also hear all about what you have planned for your day and what you are looking for in terms of photography for your wedding.
Booking you in
When you are ready to proceed, I will send you a booking confirmation email, with my terms and conditions electronically plus an invoice for your £400 booking fee.
Once you’ve signed the booking form electronically and paid the invoice, I am all booked and confirmed for your wedding day.
I will send a further email confirming receipt of your contract and booking fee along with additional information about what happens next and further information to help you plan your wedding including my list of favourite wedding suppliers.
From booking to the wedding
Feel free to get in touch with me at any time if you have any questions.
We will also start thinking about scheduling your engagement shoot if you’ve booked one and want to use those photographs for your save the date cards or personalised guest signing book. An engagement shoot is a great way to get you feeling more comfortable with being photographed as it will be in a relaxed environment with no pressure. An added bonus is we get to know each other better and I can learn more about what is important to you about each other and your wedding. You can read more about why I think engagement shoots are important.
Two months before your wedding
I will send through your final invoice and my planning questionnaire. This questionnaire helps me plan your day and lets me know how much time we will have to capture key moments throughout.
If you could send this through at least a month before your wedding, we can arrange a call to go through some of the details.
We can also set a date for us to meet after I’ve finished editing your photos for me to share them with you.
The week of the wedding
I will be in touch with you to see if there have been any changes to your timings and plans on the day.
On the day
We made it! I will be with you roughly 90 minutes to two hours before you need to leave for the ceremony to capture all the magical moments that will make up your beautiful day.
Most of the day you won’t even know I’m there as I will be candidly photographing your day as it unfolds.
I will keep a close eye on the schedule and will be as flexible as possible if parts of the day run over, which they often do, so no need to spend any time worrying about that!
In the week after the wedding
I will post a few preview pictures in your online gallery within 48 hours of your wedding. I usually share a couple of photographs on my Facebook page and Instagram feed too if you want to share them with friends and family.
6 weeks after the wedding
We will meet, either at your home or via video call to go through a slideshow of your photographs as well as start talking about selecting pictures for your albums or any other products.
12- 15 weeks after the wedding
Depending on the products you order, everything will be delivered to you for you to share with your friends and family.
I will send a follow-up email requesting feedback and a testimonial/review. If you could provide one, it will help me to continue improving the service I provide to my couples and will be greatly received.
Is that the end?
I hope not! It will be the end of our wedding photography journey together, but not the end of our friendship or photography journey. I’ve photographed the newborn photographs, birthdays, and friends’ weddings of a number of my clients and hope to be able to do the same for you.
I hope you will continue to follow me and let me know how things are going with you every now and again. I will also send you updates every month or so.
I hoped that helped you understand how the way I work in the lead up to, and after your wedding. If you have any questions or want to chat about your wedding, please do get in touch.
