Loving: Bold Beauty Boudoir
I discovered Chinelle, the face behind Bold Beauty Boudoir and some truly outstanding self portraits, early last year.
Her first self portrait series was making the rounds in photography circles and beyond, and had people talking about her fantastic imagination and vision.
Late last year, after her husband was deployed, her selfies took on more of a sensual edge as these were her weekly moral boosters for him while he was away.
The image below made me stop and stare for a while and still does, to be honest. It looks so elegant and simple and is hard to believe this wasn’t taken in a fancy hotel. Chinelle set up her camera over her bathtub at home to get this shot. She also added a little bit of milk to the water.

The thought and energy that Chinelle puts into her self portraits is truly inspirational. I’m not a big fan of being photographed but I’m wondering if a self portrait project may not be the way forward to help me get over that. My reasoning being, the more you do something, the easy it gets. That applies to being photographed too, right?! If nothing else, it will be a great learning experience to try different techniques and styles.
I loved this series and am always looking forward to seeing Chinelle’s next image. Head over to her website to see more of her amazing portraiture and to learn how to take self portraits yourself.
